Dasara (transl. Vijayadashami) is a 2023 Indian Telugu-language period action adventure film written and directed by debutant Srikanth Odela. It stars an ensemble cast of Nani, Keerthy Suresh, Dheekshith Shetty, Shine Tom Chacko, Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar and Shamna Kasim. The film is set in the backdrop of Singareni coal mines near Godavarikhani of Telangana.

In 1990s, Set in small village Veerlapally, Dharani, Vennela, and Suri are childhood friends. Dharani loves Vennela, but she has Suri in her mind. Knowing Suri’s interest in Vennela, Dharani sacrifices his love and helps get them married. But Local politics between Rajanna, Shivanna and the latter’s son Chinna Nambi threaten to disrupt their lives. The film was announced in October 2021. Principal photography commenced in March 2022 and ended in January 2023. Santhosh Narayanan composed the soundtrack and background score.Dasara was released on 30 March 2023 where it received positive reviews from critics. In 1995, Dharani is a young ruffian from Veerlapally, who steals coal and boozes alcohol. He also lives with his common friends Soori and Vennela. However, the trio’s lives are affected due to the village politics in the village and Rajanna is elected as the sarpanch of the village with the help of Dharani and Soori. However, Shivanna’s son Chinna Nambi, who wants to be the sarpanch gets enraged where he silently kills Soori on the day of his marriage with Vennela. Dharani and Vennela learn about this and sets out to vanquish Chinna Nambi and his men. In October 2021, actor Nani’s next project was announced with the title Dasara under the direction of debutant Srikanth Odela, who assisted Sukumar in Nannaku Prematho and Rangasthalam. It is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under his banner, Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas.[5][6] The film was formally launched in February 2022.[7]Nani described Dasara as “pure raw, rustic, and adrenaline-rush of a film.”[8] The film is set in the backdrop of Singareni coal mines near Godavarikhani in Telangana.
