Magic is a 2021 Indian Bengali-language psychological thriller film directed by Raja Chanda[1] and produced by Suman Sengupta starting Ankush Hazra, Oindrila Sen, Payel Sarkar[2][3][4]

This film was released under the banner of SSG Entertainment on 12 February 2021. Failed at the box office.

A thrilling tale of two people going through major ups and downs; and then not knowing it particularly.

A magician’s son Indra (Ankush) uses his inherited skills to bring a smile on people’s faces, especially those in need of some magic in their lives. But he evidently nurses some old wounds and wrestles with dark thoughts. When Kriti (Oindrila) enters his life, he gets to learn about her psychological issues and helps her out using magic tricks.
Magic devotes a good deal of its run time to the lead characters enjoying their courtship.
But the love story, with all its frills and candy colouring is just a facade as we soon discover. Hints of a darker story are mixed with the moments of thrill and the interval arrives with a promising twist to the tale. The real story only starts rolling after that.
The film is mounted like a magic show – plenty of drama, thrills, suspense and a generous amount of social awareness. While most of it is effortlessly woven into the narrative, you will crave for better consistency. Before you can applaud for a good scene, you are caught off guard at the exchange of amateurish dialogues. Magic also lacks in the tautness of a thriller.
Ankush and Oindrila have been styled well in the film, and shift gears from a fun, romantic scene to that of intense drama with ease for the most part. Better dialogues would have really helped their performance. Debshankar and Bidipta, seasoned as they are, are impactful in their small but pivotal roles.
