Skanda (2023) [Hindi-Telugu]

Skanda (transl. Hindu God of War/Son of Lord Shiva; subtitled onscreen with The Attacker) is a 2023 Indian Telugu-language action film written and directed by Boyapati Sreenu and produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi under Srinivasaa Silver Screen in collaboration with Zee Studios.

The film features Ram Pothineni (in a dual role), Sreeleela, Saiee Manjrekar and Prince Cecil.[3] The film was officially announced in February 2022, under the tentative title BoyapatiRAPO,[4] while the official title Skanda was announced in July 2023.[5] Principal Skanda photography began in October 2022,[6] and wrapped in August 2023.[7] The music is composed by Thaman S, while the cinematography and editing are handled by Santosh Detake and Tammiraju, respectively. It released on 28 September 2023 to mixed to negative reviews from the critics, who criticized its direction, screenplay, runtime, soundtrack, dialogues and over-the-top action sequences. The prodigal son of a respected leader takes on two political rivals and forms bonds with their daughters. Bhaskar Raju kidnaps Andhra Pradesh CM Rayudu’s daughter and Telangana CM Ranjith Reddy’s daughter Sreeleela, who also happens to be his classmate. The kidnappings are connected to the CEO of the Crown Group Company Rudrakanti Ramakrishna Raju, who is awaiting his death penalty after being imprisoned by both Ranjith Reddy and Rayudu for refusing to legitimize their illegal money. It is revealed that Ramakrishna Raju is actually the best friend of Bhaskar’s father, Manikanta Raju. Bhaskar wants to prove his innocence as he was forced to take the blame in order to protect his daughter, Rudraganti Parineeta, from any harm as she was held captive by Ranjith and Rayudu. With no choice, Ranjith and Rayudu release Ramakrishna Raju. Ranjith and Rayudu attack Bhaskar and his family, where they are saved by Parineeta’s love interest, Skanda, an assassin from Morocco. After a cat-and-mouse chase with Ranjith and Rayudu, Skanda finally makes them confess their crimes to the media.
