An intrepid Viruman and good-hearted son fights to make his arrogant father pay the price for his sins, which includes his mother’s death, and save his brothers from the man’s grip.

Muniyandi is a narcissistic man, who cares about his reputation and money, where he would go to any extent of sacrificing his family members to get what he wants. His sister and Balu are in love with each other which Muniyandi disapproves. Muniyandi’s sister poisones herself and tells him that she will get married if he takes her to the hospital, but Muniyandi left her dead, and also treats his wife Muthulakshmi poorly. Muthulakshmi finds out that he is having a affair and Muniyandi told her to put up with it. Since the way he treated her and her family, Muthulakshmi burned herself to death which a young Viruman has witnessed. Enraged after learning this, Viruman chases after his father Muniyandi with a knife, where the court advises him not to, but Viruman tells that he does not want to live with his father anymore and wants to be raised by his uncles Niraipandian and Balu.

Years later, Tensions always grows between Viruman and Muniyandi, which bothers other people specifically his brothers Selvam, Muthukutty and Ilango. Out of respect, Viruman can take any criticisms and disrespect from his brothers because he respects them. Meanwhile, Thaenmozhi “Theanu”, who is Viruman’s eldest brother’s sister-in-law praises Muniyandi, due to the fact he is her sister’s father-in-law and hates Viruman. However, Viruman is in love with her. When the family had a fight, she publicly defended Muniyandi. Meanwhile, Selvam needed a job and wanted his father’s help, who rejects to help him. Viruman helps him to get the job with the help of the MLA Pathinettaampadiyan, who forts a condition to sell his mother’s land which Viruman has always refused to sign for years, but finally does for the sake of his brothers. Thaenu realises this and starts to reciprocate his feelings.

Their relationship is caught by Muniyandi, who starts to disrespect her and ask her to pay for the remaining dowry from her sister’s marriage. While the whole village was getting involved with Selvam and Muniyandi, Viruman told him to stop co-depending on his father as he has his own family to focus on. Selvam agreed and decided to live independently from his father. This enrages Muniyandi, who wanted to fight, but Thaenu kisses which shocked everyone. brother Muthukutty wants his father to sign for the auction for the restaurant which his father rejected. His wife suggests to ask Viruman which he was hesitant at first, but later accepted. When Muniyandi finds out, he asks the village rogue Soonapona, who slapped Muniyandi to make Muthukutty lose the auction. When the auction happened, Viruman realised that his father hired Soonapona and decided to trap him. He made his gang chase him and Viruman locked them up.
