Fans can watch Byomkesh O Pinjrapol on Hoichoi on April 7, 2023. Sharing the announcement, the team took to social media to mention, “Series directed by Sudipto Roy, creative director Anirban Bhattacharya, premieres on 7th April, only on #hoichoi.” The cast of this series includes Anirban Bhattacharya, Ridhima Ghosh, Bhaswar Chatterjee, Babu Dutta Roy, Moitree Banerjee, Durbar Sharma, Anushka Chakraborty, Sampurnaa Mandal, Kaushik Hafizee, Dipanwita Sarkar, Soumik Maitra, Sanjay Paul, Susovon Guha, Sumanta Ray, Buddhadev Das, and Manas Mukherjee. Sudipto Roy directed the series, with creative direction from Anirban Bhattacharya. Pratik Dutta wrote the screenplay and dialogues, while Subhadeep Guha handled the background score. Ayan Sil served as the cinematographer, with Subho Pramanik as the editor and Sanchita Bhattacharya as the costume designer.

“Chiriyakhana,” a story by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay, serves as the inspiration for this series. It follows the adventures of private detective Satyanweshi Byomkesh Bakshi and his partner and friend, author Ajit Kumar Banerjee, as they attempt to solve a spine-chilling mystery where everyone is a suspect, and the truth has multiple faces. The series also delves into the psychology of its protagonist and showcases a grey area between the black and white characters.

Anirban Bhattacharya, who portrays the lead character in the series, in a media interview with the Times, stated, “I have been part of this Byomkesh franchise from the beginning and have also grown as an actor with it. It feels great that people still feel the excitement and look forward to the new seasons. So, this year we are back with yet another intense Byomkesh O Pinjrapol story. I know ‘Chiriyakhana’ has been used before, and people know the story, but I can assure you the treatment will be different, and the narrative won’t lose the pace and tempo.”

He added, “See, what I have realized after all these years is the stories of Byomkesh explore the complexities and dark sides of human relationships. It is not just a cat and mouse game between a detective and a criminal. Be it twisting marital relationships or complex affairs – the way the killers strike is so complex that it often defies the general norms of human psychology.”
