Starring popular actress Tanjin Tisha in the central character, celebrated filmmaker Taneem Rahman Angshu-directed feature film ‘Shahoshika’ has been garnering positive response from the viewers on YouTube. The film received 2 million views in the first 10 days after it was released on August 10. Initially premiered on Deepto TV during last Eid-ul-Azha, ‘Shahoshika’ has received 2,284,158 views till yesterday afternoon.

Alongside Tisha, the star-studded cast of ‘Shahoshika’ includes Manoj Pramanik, Rafiath Rashid Mithila, Ashish Khandekar and Tareen Jahan, among others, in the lead roles.

When asked how does it feel to receive positive feedback for the film from all quarters, Tanjin Tisha said, “Of course, it feels really great as we all have worked very hard. The story of the film is very close to my heart. It has always been nice to get positive response from the viewers for any good job. I hope everyone sees the film.”

“When I was first approached for the film, I was really very excited to have the chance to portray such a beautiful and courageous character like Faria. There are many women in our country who can’t speak up because of the society’s pressure, I think my character Faria will give them moral courage to raise their voice and fight back against the odds.”

“I want more people to watch the film. I am actually very happy that the audience liked our film,” she added.

Taneem Rahman Angshu told The Business Post about the film, “I am very happy that the audience really liked our feature film based on a very challenging and unique story. Views received on YouTube clearly indicates that the audience liked our story and they want to watch more films like ‘Shahoshika’. They actually like the films and dramas those touch their hearts as well as delivers social message.”

“I really liked working for this feature film very much, because I, as a director, always don’t get chance to deal with such a bold story like ‘Shahoshika’. We usually make dramas in a short time with a limited budget. But, ‘Shahoshika’ was absolutely a unique case for so many reasons. Everyone in the set was very honest and sincere to their respective roles. As a result, we successfully made a perfect production,” he added. The story of the film revolves around a college student Shahoshika 2 named Faria. But when her lover Mahadi raped her in the name of love, her world turns upside down. Her own family tries to hide the incident, but Faria fights back. In this tough journey, police officer Nadia and senior lawyer Farid extend their full support to her. in ‘Shahoshika’, Tanjin Tisha essays the role of Faria while Manoj plays the role of Mahadi. Tareen and Ashish play the role of a police officer and a lawyer respectively. Besides, Mithila plays the role of a defence lawyer. Co-written by Ahmed Khan Hirok and Nasimul Hasan, the film is produced by Kazi Media Ltd.
